BADC WELCOMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Cody Morrison has been hired as Executive Director of Barre Area Development, Inc. (BADC) after an extensive search. As Executive Director of BADC, a non-profit organization that promotes economic development in Barre Town and Barre City, Cody is responsible for helping grow the local economy by focusing on commercial, infrastructure, and community development. He will also be responsible for overseeing the Barre Rock Solid Initiative, a marketing campaign focused on residential, business, and tourist recruitment. Cody brings a wide range of experience to Barre having worked in local and state government in New Hampshire.

Prior to joining BADC, Cody was employed by the Town of Newport, New Hampshire as an Economic Development Coordinator where he was responsible for economic and workforce development initiatives. During the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, he led personal protective equipment production efforts by collaborating with Widmer & Davis Artisan Distilleries to produce hand sanitizer for communities and first responders throughout the region, the first distillery in New Hampshire to do so.

Cody has also worked in compliance and partner management roles for the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority, a non-profit organization responsible for administration of state and federal economic development grant programs. He got his start in the public sector as an intern with the New Hampshire Executive Council and then as Campaign Manager for District 1 Councilor Joe Kenney.

A native of Monroe, New Hampshire, Cody grew up working on his family’s dairy farm and is a graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy in Vermont where he played hockey, baseball, and football. He currently holds a BS in Finance from Franklin Pierce University.
