THE BARRE PARTNERSHIP
The Barre Partnership is the “Granite City’s” Downtown Organization. It was founded in 1999 and is governed by a board of directors comprised of community
The Barre Partnership is a membership organization comprised of almost 70 businesses of the greater Barre area. The members of the Partnership have a deep love of this community and it shows everyday. Many of our members support the Partnership in many ways from annual dues and sponsoring events to volunteering and engaging other stakeholders to make Barre a wonderful place to live, work and visit.
Because of the Partnership’s designated status, property owners within the designated downtown have accessed almost $1 million in tax credits from the State of Vermont, which in turn has leveraged over $7 million in economic development activity in the downtown. In addition, its director provides technical assistance to business owners looking to open or expand in the downtown.
Our mission is to stimulate and sustain economic development in Barre’s historic downtown, ensuring a vibrant community that is the social, cultural and economic hub of the greater Barre area.
